Hello,

Please could you recommend me some ants available from your website? I'm looking for some with a high formic acid content and preferably a fast reproduction rate.

Do you ever get Harvester Ants in stock?

In case you're wondering, I'm looking to grow a colony to supplement a Horned Lizard diet- sorry if this seems cruel to all you ant lovers!

Dear Rusty,

I think you need this ants for some Dendrobates? But this is dangerous because the frogs get than a poison. Some Frog keepers use a Pheidole sp.? from south america.
But we don't supply this species.
Perhaps you can order formic acid in a drugstore.
I have hear, that Dendrobates need 3-5% Formic acid to get a poison.

In the USA, keepers usually feed harvester ants but the key ingredient is the formic acid. I believe some people feed them carpenter ants too.

I'd prefer to feed them ants than trying to add drug store folic acid to their food.

I'm fairly certain that some of the ants on your site are folic acid producers- I'm just wondering which ones you might think most potent?
