Please help identify this ant!

Hi,

Could anyone help me identify this ant? I am really sorry I didn't manage to get a better picture so if it is not possible I understand.

Here are two pictures I got when I first caught her, I am from Singapore which is in Southeast Asia if it helps.

I didn't go for a test tube setup like most new queens because this queen I got had some trouble settling down, instead I placed her in a container of soil and dug a small hole to get her started, now she is all sealed up (but still visible from the side of the container) in a chamber she made that is much smaller than herself. In there she is curled up with the underside of her abdomen facing her and eggs are laid on the underside of her abdomen. She has assumed that position ever since.

I really hope someone could help with identifying this because I have searched Google, here and even Youtube but the closest I saw was the Messor sp. though they don't seem to lay eggs the way this queen is doing do they? I hope this characteristic can help in the identification although I suppose many ant species might do the same!

Thank you!

That looks like a Pheidologeton sp.
The young queens still have their wings so it is possible that the queens are not delate.

 I think you mean they have possibly not mated - having no wings is the defintion of being dealate.

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

She has removed her wings and laid eggs now, I can't get a good picture of her now though.
