Well hello guys , I received two pairs of termites last week , It has been awhile since my first colony of termites died and im glad I have some more. I have chosen to open a new thread due to the fact until the first workers and soldiers are produced and a fungus garden created I am unsure to what species this one actually is



The two pairs arrived quickly and safely, both king and queen settled into there new chamber and promptly started sealing off around the glass with soil. These termites are rather small at about 6-7 mm in size.

The King and queen are covered in lots of tiny little hairs , more then the last pair were. This almost makes them really shiny under a source of light

Barely 24 hours had passed since they settled in and i witnessed the first egg being laid

Good luck man ! These look like a different species than your Macrotermes malaccensis from before. Are they the same size?

Hey vasile , they are different these are only about 7 mm in size. Won't know the exact species untill workers and soldiers emerge : )

That's interesting, how is the colony doing? Lots of eggs yet?

Hey Vasile no still no piles of eggs yet , this species seems more easily disturbed , when I do check there is usually one or two eggs but these don't last long and get eaten

Perhaps try to increase humidity and temperature..

its not the humidity and temp mate , its the species I think mate as do ants termites sometimes eat the first few eggs
