i was wondering what kind of soil i should use and how i can make it safe if i need to or im jut being a bit paranoid lol
Can i use garden soil or soil bought from a garden centre and just put it in the oven to kill off any nasties?
Its for my rugosum colony im getting

How about clean Soil types: Sand to clay?
There should be some without poisons...
For Example Quarz-Sand (from Si and O)!?

I was asking about wether me putting garden soil/dirt from my garden into the oven will kill off any bad things like inects or anything else that could cause harm to the ants?

Is a nest made of polystyrene ok to use as i was thinking of building a nest made of polystyrene???

but stable things like heavy metals don't go!

No, I don't think, it could resist the ants!

Look at gypsum, poreous concrete or so,
searching for ytong should result many pictures in the forum for the second material.
