Well the do hibernate. However they hibernate unter quite high temperatures. I think about 15°C is enough for them to hibernate.
They need very high temperatures and a lot of space since they very active and very activley hunt. Also their basin should be fairly dry, the nest should be a little moist.
Cataglyphis colonies grow very fast when you have the right temperatures.
I belive there is no data about the lifetime of a queen but I assume that it will be well above 10 years.
I´m not sure about the species though because I don´t exactly know what Cataglyphis species live in Greece. However antweb doesn´t list Cataglyphis nodus for Greece but lists Cataglyphis bicolor which has simular colors.
