Hi everybody.

I would like to know the life time for Camponotus aethiops queen and workers. Is there any way to find out the age of my queen? Also can anyone tell me the time needed from an egg to born a new ant for this species? I have 2 colonies of these species and both of the queens started to lay eggs at the same time but I see pupae and big larvae only in one of the colonies. The other has only eggs and small larvae. Why is this happening? They took the same amount of food and temperature are the same for both. I keep them around 28-31 celsius. Is this a natural temp for this spec? Here in Greece temperature is always high in the summer and I read that C. aethiops are heat loving spec. Is this true?
