ANTSTORE World of Ants

Hi all, i'm new to ants in general, i have ordered a farm basin (30x20x20) starter kit and some Camponotus ligniperdus [Comp'Ligni]. Will these guys dig if left to build a nest? As its a farm basin my plan is to fill the nest area with a sand soil mix and replicate te surroundings of a forest in thier outworld, i would rather watch them construct their own nest in the soil than create a pre made structure, but as they are carpenter ants will they dig? Any feed back is apreciated, its all very exiting!
