ANTSTORE World of Ants

Hello there guys!

I had an idea for a new terrarium containing ants and carnivore plants. Here is the design I made with Google Sketch:



The idea is to have two islands separate by water. On an island there would be a colony of Lasius Niger and on the other there would be a couple of carnivore plants. If the colony grows too large I'll make a small bridge to reduce the ant's numbers!


So what do you think of the idea?

Did you hold carnivores before?
They often need much light and much water in the air,
especially the high temperatures could make Problems!
And reducing the ants could be a problem to,
there could die too much or not enough...
And when the colony got access to soil, they will burrow fast!

Over that I have bad experience with islands,
the colonys, I had in such a water construction,
didn't need to be reduced, because they didn't become bigger!

Why didn't they become bigger? The formicarium part will be a glass box filled with soil, won't make a difference from any other formicarium besides the fact that it's surrounded by water outside the glass!

I doubt carnivorous plants will do well in there, what type of conditions will you keep the terrarium in? What type of plants are you going to use?
