I'm new to ant keeping although i did have a go about 40 yrs ago. Ive been looking at the few ant suppliers that i can find on the net and most species offered ( more so exotic ) seem to be out of stock. So are supplies seasonal or are they generally privatley collected by the suppliers.? And is there a classified section here that hobbiest can sell equipment and ants to each other?

Forgot to ask, but i'm looking for a colony of thr larger exoxtics Camponotus sp's, thx..

I think it depends on when the nuptial flights occur. After that there will always be more colonies of that ant species available in stores. So you should find out when your desired ant species perform their nuptial flights and watch out if they are available in the shops.

Hi Andie, Im not 100% but I think most of the exotics come in during our winter time.. as its summer in the exotic locations Anyone please feel free to correct me if i am wrong!
