It's been a l-o-o-o-n-g time since I've posted on this forum, probably because all my ants died last year ( It was my carelessness that caused it
) and plus it's been winter, so there haven't really been any ants out. But, don't be fooled into thinking that I'm giving up by the words just said, 'cause I'm ready to go with a new anting season! Anyway, I just wanted some advice on keeping P. Imparis. Last year, my three-queened colony got up to maybe thirty workers, and then two of the queens died. I'm thinking that the remaining queen killed the other two, but here's my question: The colony was under stress when this happened( I was trying to move them into a plaster nest, so I had a light shining on their test tube), so do you think that because the queens were stressed, this behavior occurred?
I'm asking this because I really want to try a multi-queened colony again, but I'm not sure this would be the best thing to do since the other queens might get killed, and only one survive. Anyway, glad to be back, and thanks for any input you can give!
