Seems Ants From Brazil are 'in' at the moment!

I have a friend whos out in Brazil at the moment. He sent me this photo and thought the aphids were the lady birds eggs! i explained to him what she was really doing, but its a great photo!

these are the rest of his ants that hes seen, i only recognise the Atta in this lot:

The "golden" ant look a bit like Polyrhachis.

Both are Camponotus species, I think. Polyrhachis don't occur in South America.

Damn you are right. Both are definetly camponotus. The fur of the second species distracted me but when u take a look at the second
picture of the ant you can see the typical bodyshape of camponotus spec.
