I have orded a Camponotus ligniperda and got a queen and some eggs, i was wondering if its any way possible to get another queen Camponotus ligniperda and join them together as the same colony . Or would this only work if on the date of the flights i keep a queen born from that colony in the same farm

It is possible but you would risk the Lives of both queens , I dont think it would be worth the money.

im pretty sure they would fight.. or the workers would.. either way its not a good idea.

Yes, that species isn't polygyn is it? Its monogyn.

Im going to try it with a queen born from the same colony, if i ever get one that is.

What do most people do with the queens born from there colony ?

that hardly ever happens, and if it does they sell them.

Sell queens from your colony (new queens) there is no reason to do so. They are not fertilized and so on they will not make a new colony, they can lay eggs but only males will hatch from them.

I have new queens from a few of my colonies, i just leaf them in there (make sure they can not get out) and they will help the workers along with there tasks or in some cases the workers will kill these queens.

oh, I thought the queen layed other queen eggs and male ones. I will most likely not try to join two queens together then.

No, they need a flight to get fertilized, it "almost" impossible to do so in captivity.

I once saw a big war of messor barbarus ants and it was awsome there were ants cut in half still alive
