I've been wondering about the practicality of planting (i.e. having living plants) in the farm or arena.

The arena seems like the obvious candidate for some small plants but from what I've read on here it is better kept dry. The farm on the other hand will be moist, but would plants have any negative effect on the colony?

Does anyone have experience of planting in their set-up? Was it a success, and what type of plants are most suitable?

hmm... i have one sand nest and i have some moss and a bit of grass in it. i keep it wet (but the colony that i keep in there likes it wet).
For the other colonies, if i use plants, i use plastic plants.

As for as plants do not have negative effect on ants. Depends on witch plant you use. But in nature there are plants to so...
