ANTSTORE World of Ants

hi guys,
just got a nice colony of Pheidole pallidula and was wondering what is the best nest to keep them in.
i have ant farms,y-tong,aereated blocks,and one of those gypsom 6+1 nests off antstore.all my other species are in y-tong nests but i'm told y-tong not suitable for these.i want them in something with maximum viewing opportunity.any ideas or pics.

Hi robby42,

I also keep this species and i also keep all of my other species in a y-tong accept this one. I keep them in a sand nest, i know you do not have a few of the inside of the nest but if you put them in a y-tong they will chew trow it and escape. (They are masters in escaping)

I've got then in a testtube nest. I've got three testtubes where they are living in.

That is the best way to keep a small colony Beffie but you can not keep them in there forever.

Yes, that's wright. The colony contains now about 300 ants. When the colony expands to 1000 ants, i will let them move to an other nest. Maybe an ytongnest.

1000 ants i think its toooo big for testubes.

yes ,too big colony for tube ,but if is tube 15+ cm x 1,5/2 cm of size and inside is a bit of paper (paper make chambers) ,it is OK

Most of the time i move my ants out the tube if they have a few 100 workers (100 - 200). First in a small y-tong and than in a bigger one.
