I just hosed mine down with water then let it dry before glueing the perspex on, or you could take it down your local garage and use their car tyre pump
Timey looking at that block again.. it doesnt look like ytong.. it looks like breezeblock... which is WRONG!!! Correct me if i'm wrong of course! Ytong or aerated concrete is quite soft, you dont need a drill at all, in fact you can pick away at it with ur finger nails... also it has like a zillion air holes in it.. which is what lets it breath an suck up water...
Really do hope i am wrong here as you would have to start all again... just hope you have not glued that lovely perspex on yet!
Go to somewhere like Wickes, they are called aerated concrete blocks, cost about £1.10 each and should come in different densities. Some will probably have the corners damaged, look at the ones that have and you'll see lots of tiny air holes. Thats the type you want.
Ahh much better.. I see you still are using that drill lol.. Wood Chisel works well to clean up the edges and inside the chambers... Also i used a screwdriver on some of mine to connect the chambers instead of digging them out... Looking good tho. How are you going to keep moisture in it? Will you be using a leg (best idea) or a well?
yea the drill bit i have is a milling bit too so it cuts sidewards saved so much time, and i'm going with the well as the leg idear may be best but looks out of place
i revived the tubbing today 10mm and 5mm for the connections tubes i am just waiting on the money for the cutting tubes for the perspex and the glue here is the pictures for the block after washing for an hour
i'm now waiting on some money to buy the tool to cut the perspex so i can build the casing for the block, as you can see i have the block done and the tubing, i also need my brother inlaw to find the wood base from his work
hey im new ive orded Messor barbarus should get her on monday without workers so when i get her will i have to feed her or just put her in a warm dark place and leave her alone ?
