2 other virgin queens but there died as colony turned on them for unknown reasons.
Maybe there smell changed from colonys..

When I was a child there was a big colony of Messor ants (i think, they look very familiar) on an empty plot accross the street of my house. I used to go there and spent time watching them.

When the past day it had rained, the colony was attacking the virgin queens making them to leave the colony. I think that was a way to make them fly to <a new world> and make a new colony.

That colony was looking very strong and healthy for a lot of years. Unfortunately, a house was built there, so...

Anyway i am realy interested of starting a colony with messor ants and I would like to ask if you have any suggestions and advices.

I am thinking to purchase Messor barbarus or Messor cf. wasmanni ants. What do you think?
