Hi guys I have my Lasius niger [las Nigers] in a plaster setup I made tunnels and a little foraging area in the back of a plastic tank. Little did I know plaster goes mouldy fast its starting to look a bit rubbish to be fair so last week I followed a guide on here to build a ytong nest and little feeding area. Well I waited 2 days to make sure the smell of sealer had gone and washed all the dust out of it and connected it up thinking the queen (or lightning McQueen as my son calls her) and all the workers would up ship and go in the ytong but there stubborn as hell! It's been connected well over 48 hours and they still not moved! Some will run down the tubing but as soon as they go to take a look in there they just run off. I have the ytong nice and moist and covered up so its dark. I tried making her current nest light and upped the temp abit but still nothing. I don't want to hurt the ants but that nest looks like a tramps pants!
Any one got any tips to make them read there eviction notice??
Cheers
Mark
