Well if there where already workers she is used to being served, but if you put it in the tube she will go for it if she is hungry. ;) I hope she is strong enough to start a new colony again.

I think the queen will eat if she's hungry and the food is close to her. The only thing a queen wants is survive and mate :p . The best thing she can do to survive when she's hungry is eating ;) . But she won't search for food because it's a large risk to go out of the nest and it takes much energy to walk out of the nest, maybe she don't find food and than it's lost energy.

Hey Guys,

Little update and a question at the same time!!!

My Fusca queen arrived with only dead workers so she is all alone.
In the meanwhile she transferred 2 a new fresh tube, i gave her the chance 2 feed herself with protein jelly and honey/water.
Also i frquently change a little cotton soaked in water for water supply.

But here is the question, she had still no eggs.
Do you guys know what i'm doing wrong or any other tips??

But she's awake for ±1 month. So she have already got plenty time to make a healthy pile of eggs. But my Messor Barbarus laid eggs after 1month.. But she have workers to help her.
At the nest of Mike the workers died, about 5 workers i remember.

Like i already told you, if the first workers die it is very difficult to get a nice colony of this queen. She already used all there reserves, it could help feeding her a bit, still it is difficult. You could hold on for a few weeks.

You have 3 months to secure your colony from AntStore, if your workers where DOA then it will be worth contacting them to see how they can help you out :)

The ant's didn't come from antstore. But from Apocrita.de . I've contacted the store directly after i saw the queen. The store says Mike have to wait and if the queen dies I've got to contact the store again.. If the Queen dies I might get discount at the next order.. (becouse of the €10 send costs not a free queen :S )

thats not on at all, it is their responsability to make sure the ants arrive with you alive, you bought live ants, you should recieve live ants, pherhaps it would be worth informing them of their duty under law ;)

But the problem is they gave a living Queen, and the order was:
1 x Königin: Formica fusca (Lieferdauer: sofort) .
So they delivered a queen, and it's the store her responsibility for about 2 weeks. After that the store isn't responsible for any problems. But they said i have to contact them if anything goes wrong..
I've gave them a order of 46,80 EUR so i expect some service ;) beside the guy on the phone was verry polite so i guess it gonna be alright.

You better can send a few workers than brood. The brood usually needs some care. I can call them and ask if they can send another queen, by normal mail (much cheaper than a package)..
