you all have to remember that the mating flights will happen at different places at different times, they could be a week different or a month. so don't worry they will happen, when they are ready.

weather sucks :( don't think theres any chance of them flying where I live today. Is there any chance that the weather can be bad enough that they don't fly at all this year?

Good news guys, this afternoon it got pretty sunny and warm, then is piss down with thunder and now its heating up again and theres tons of flying ants around. Ive just collected 17 wingless queens. I could of collected 100's more but i didnt want to get greedy lol. Whats the odds i'll have some fertilized queens amongst them? Have i been greedy with the amount ive collected, can I released the rest if i find i have too many. Do antstore buy. anybody wanna do swopies for other species?

all of them should be fertilized :) but not all may survive, however you've taken away allot of the elements that kill new queens by rearing them in captivity, i'd give em a few months before moving them on, let them get established and comfortable

cheers miszt, tell me is it cruel to release the females i dont want. What say if most of them survive and they all start to produce eggs and then workers and i release them, do you think the females will die. i suppose i could just place the test tubes outside and allow them to move out when they want. Possibly not placing the tubes together.

Maybe i should try walking before running and see if i do get any colonies from these.
