I have a canon S3 that I use this technique with, the depth of focus seems to be a bit less than with cameras with smaller lens' (like the canon a70). Ive done a bit of experimenting with this, and it seems that the larger the reverse slr lens (relative to the digi cam's lens) the larger the depth of focus. None the less, Ive taken some great pics with my canon s3 using this technique. I look forward to seeing your results :).

Been looking into this for ways to turn my nu cam into a great macro system, combing a 66mm extention tube > reversing ring > 55mm lens...will produce upto 2.7x magnification! :D ie the Ants will be nearly 3 times bigger in the picture than in real life...or somthing like that, much cheaper than spending 300€-11k€ on a macro lens

an Auto extention tube for Pentax is 129£ (€200) and a reversing ring is €20, although I will be gettin a manual extention tube, because manual imo is better for macro shots ;) and they are about €20....so in total, €40! :D
