Higly Healthy Honey

This is probably best viewed by people from england however you may be able to replicate it in other countries.

I was in boots (The chemist), for people who dont know what boots is, its a pointless store full of useless junk like perfume, which my girlfriend insits on buying, anyway, I was looking down the vitmin isle when I saw sme kids Multi-Vitamin syrup, after all those years of crushing tablets this was an easy way out!

My other article lets you know how nasty aspaertame can be, well, you may be happy to know it des not contain aspaertame however many other brands did so keep a look out.

Simply mixing this with some runny honey and a tiny bit of water seems to have made a solution my ants cant get enough of! It's high in vitamins and sweet, the multi-vitamin syrup is citrus flavour and is made for babies.

So look out for some at a pharmacy, it works great for me so far, my two Lasius Niger colonies love it not to mention my new Myrmic Rubra I just got today.

Regards!

As long we don't know what ants need you can't substitute insects or something with that. Vitamins or essential AminoAcids differ from species to species. Sometimes what is good for us is toxic for others --> for example dark chocolate for dogs. They can't handle Theobromine which is a little like caffeine and small dogs might die of that substance.
So always be careful with food, even if it's good for us. It looks like your ants don't have problems with it so far. It would be nice if you post the ingredients (which vitamins, adjuvants are in there and such things) ... just to have a little list of things ants seem to "like" or better don't die from instantly :-)

after all those years of crushing tablets this was an easy way out
Do it like Jamie Oliver and use fresh fruits and vegetable ... so you won't ever need any pills. A lot of people think they can compensate a bad nutrition with pills ... that doesn't work.

It stores longer than fruit :) It does not replace insects, all my ants get several fresh waxworm or mealworms a day, they still like the honey mix, it does not substitue anything it is a suppliment, they get fruit, insects, honey and water as well as the mix, so far all it has lead to is a very large colony and alot of happy ants :)

My ants diet is the following:

Fresh every Day (1200 hours):
1x Orange segement, squished
1x Apple segment or Bannana
Fresh Water (loads! honey makes them thristy)
Fresh Honey
Fresh Highly Healthy Honey

Morning (0800 hours):
1x Waxworm or Cricket or Spider or Mealworm

Night (1800 hours):
1x Waxworm or Cricket or Spider or Mealworm
