Help to the newbie

Hi all,

If anyone is going to use an ant world, i sugest you do not have a queen. Antworld is so that you can see the ants diging so if you want to see the queen and brood, get a ytong nest insted. But antworld is good so that you can learn what food the workers like and find out more about the workers.

I dont have a colonyyet. But i am only 13 and im not willing to pay all of the money to pay and ship from antstore beecause i am not made of money. But for the antworlds it looks good to me because you can buy them for as cheap as £4.

well ben07 if you really want to keep ants you can give them a very nice home for almost no money. but you need to work on it yourself.
If you buy an y-tong (i think +-€1 for a hole stone) and make a nest in it cover it up with glass (plexiglass +-€ 2) and give them an out world from a plastic box (that you can get for free). Capture a queen after swarm time ( € 0) and then you have a perfect nest and a nice colony (after a few months) for only € 3. but you need to have some patience and work a bit on the nest.
