i've always been interested in ants and i'm finally looking into keeping a ant colony.
personally im far more interested in the way ants forage and work together to support the colony with food rather than the tunnel system of the colony it self though.

as such my ideal colony would have a lot of surface ground for the ants to forage on and a rather lage ant species to make it easier to observe individual ants going about their tasks.
it would be great for example to keep a colony of weaver ants but since it's my first time it's probably wiser to start with something a little easier and more affordable.

does anyone have any experience with this set?
it looks to be pretty flat instead of your common vertical ant farm.

i was thinking about picking up this one with a colony of these lasius niger ants, they seem easy enough to keep ant at 10 euro's it won't be a financial disaster if the colony fails. (god forbid)
