I was wondering what the difference was between Messor Capitatus and Messor Structor in terms of colony size and overall ant size (workers, soldiers, etc

also what colonys would get bigger between the Messors and Polyrachis Dives

I suspect Messor colonies get bigger than Polyrhachis ones; more quickly, too.

Thanks for the reply, i have read some reviews saying messor colonys are slow to start but not sure. How big would a messor colony get at maturity roughly?

Good pictures, best ones ive seen so far Is the only difference between Barbarus and Capitatus the size of workers and aggression.

Hi again
I see that there is a difference between keeping Capitatus and Barbarus, why is Capitatus level 1-2 when Barbarus is beginner I thought that Capitatus was easier due to its lower temperature.
Which one would best suit me as i live in a lower temperature atmosphere and how hard are they to start up?

I live in London mate and I have a small M barbarus colony no problem I prefer them to M capitus as the Major workers (soldiers) have red heads which makes them that little bit more colourful. why dont you join this forum its a british discusion board about ants its really helpful Hyperlinks sind nur für registrierte Nutzer sichtbar?
