Camponotus ligniperda pupae

Beitragvon adam james » 31. Okt 2007 19:39

I was wondering if any one would be kind enought to send me about 10 - 20 pupae so i can put them with my colony . I have a queen and 3 workers and a big bunch of larva that wont grow . Im hoping some new workers will help move things along and be more of a relief for the queen .

Hope there is somone to help me

what do you mean they wont grow?

pherhaps the change in tempreture has slowed down their development allot, i'd expect this to be happening now, are you using a heat mat or anything for extra warmth?

My c.herc development time halved when i introduced a low watt (7w) heat matt to one section of their ytong, they all huddled around it and placed the brood close to it

Hi,

the winter is coming and your ants need the hibernation.
Thats the reason why the larvaes have stop to grow. The ants
need for the next 5 months temperatures about 5-10 °C.
And in the next spring the larvaes will grow again.

It is already November so there 'inner clock' say it is time to hibernate, if you will keep them in this temperature they will not know what to do. I think they just are trying to pre pair for hibernation, so it think its better to give them one.
