Hi Marshall and welcome.

Looks like they are doing fine. ;)
If you don't mint, i have a few questions for you.
Is this the first colony you are keeping ? You now these are exotic ants and not really easy to keep, but it looks like you are doing a good job so for. ;)

Tell us a bit more about you and your ants.

Hi Jimmy,
They seem to be doing well , though I did have abit of trouble with them , but I think this was down to temperature which I have sorted and they seem to be doing well . These are not my first ants I have kept lol ... , if they were my first I would be being abit too hastey.
They are only a small colony (6 workers no brood yet) , though yesterday they had a eating rampage lol ... they ate 2 flys In under 12 hours , so hopefully all that protien should encourage the queen to lay.

Oh, okay Marshall. Glad to hear you have already some experience. ;)
I also have these species, i keep them at about 25-30°c at day, at night about 20-25°c. I have them about a year now and they are still doing fine. ;)

Good luck and keep us informed.

I am happy you have some experience too :) ,because I also keeping this ant specie ,very nice ants of course ;) . They are not hard to keep ,I think it is good to start with exotic ants ,because it is Camponotus and much of Camponotuses are good ants to keep. I have colony for 4 months and now is it 1 queen and 15-20 workers :) ,and much brood.

I wrote it 2 hours ago about 4mykids´s Myrmecocystus. Queen doesnt laying eggs everytime ,but she has periods ;) ,you must only wait on static period ,when she laying eggs. Pause btw this periods by this specie is circa 2-3 weeks :) in my experience

Great ant:)
Check the smell of their test-tube from time to time...
It won't hurt if you connect another tube for them.
Good luck.

If she layng eggs now ,it is good to feed them with insects (proteins) ,because she need it now ;) ,there is 6 workers ,so I think ,you´ll have circa 5-10 eggs :) ,in my experience .But like a wrote ,feeding with protein food
