indeed. I'm looking around on the net, found one for € 1.117 but there is no lens with it and the lens is also about € 500. pfff....

Anyone suggestions ? (for a cheaper camera where you can take Makro's with)

Buying camera for 1500€ just to take photos of ants doesn't make sence, unless you are total fan-ant-ic. :wink: But if you are fond photographer and enjoy making photos of all kind than investment in that expensive camera is not so unreasonable.

However, DSLR photography is still in it's adolescent period. In few years much better cameras will cost less money. Profesional photography will nevertheless still be very expensive.

@JimmyVe

Best price for Fuji S5600 I could found in Slo. is 255 €. What I think is not so much especially looking at LeonofLondon's photos.
and DSLR stands for what HeldGoP wrote... in lamers tearms it means that it is a kind of camera where you buy body and then you can change lenses.

@LeonofLondon

I thought that Fuji S5600 has fixed lense and that you cannot change it. What do you mean by "I did use a extra lens though" ? Macro converter?

i think he uses a magnifying lens on his camera.

not a normal magnifying glass like used by spys ;)
there are special lenses to screw on the cameras lens.

Yes you can get all kinds of attachments for the Fuji S5600 and its bigger brother the S9600 Hyperlinks sind nur für registrierte Nutzer sichtbar has many to choose from you also can get non brand name ones that apparently work well.
I unfortunately cant actually afford the real close up lens attachment (not that its expensive but Im kind of between jobs so), so I unscrewed the lens off a pair of binoculars and used that for extra magnification. Maybe I will get a real close-up (macro) attachment for Christmas :lol: I should imagine the results would be better.

SLR (single lens reflex) means you look straight through the lens when looking through the eyepiece as oppose to electronic reproduction or separate viewfinder.

Now I'm learning something about photography also. ;)

@ mpir: Thanks, i found one (at a Belgium site)
Hyperlinks sind nur für registrierte Nutzer sichtbar
That is a better price than the Canon. But i must say, the pictures with the canon are sharper. ;)

Using a magnifying glass can do the trick ;) but isn't that difficult ?
I'm suprizede what you can buy for putting on the camera, these lenses are bigger than the camera themselves. ;)
