i would like to no in lasius nigers ants tunnels do they have a different chambers for different things like a chamber for the food, queen , eggs ect???

Most of the time they keep the queen and eggs in one room and the rest of the brood into an other room. (could depend form colony) Food is not really stored, they keep most food into there stomach (social stomach).

Some species do store there food and has also chambers for there soldiers (majors).

True, my Lasius Niger keep there eggs and the rest of the brood apart, but i have seen them bring cricket legs etc into the nest and place it with the brood.

They kept digging into the cotton in the test tube(which they orginaly come in) to store eggs/food, but now it seems they have sprung a small leak lol. Its ok though they patched it up with sand!
