is there any way of telling if a honey contains pesticides that harm ants? i'm apprehensive to feed honey-water to my lasius niger but ive heard that honey is very nutritious
any advice?

just grab some rowntrees honey

you need sweet honey and no bitter one like forest honey.
I prefer feeding the honey pure and not mixed with water. They really like it!

thanks for the advice, its a very small colony at the moment and i havent even seen them eating the sugar water yet

ive never heard of rowntrees honey before, is it available in most supermarkets or is there a website?
