ANTSTORE World of Ants

Hey all. My largest colony already has a 100 or more cacoons. I can't even open up the door of the room I keep them in without spooking them. They emmediatley pick up all of the cacoons and scramble around looking for a place to hide with them.

I keep them in a 10 gallon plastic fish tank that I filled with a mixture of 2/3 perlite and plaster, waited for it to dry, turned it over and dumped it out and then carved all the tunnels around the sides so I couls see them.

Turned out pretty nice, after a full year and for the last month kept under lights and added heat under tank, only a little green mold that has done no harm.

Very nice to hear they are doing so well.
Do you have pictures of that setup, i would love to see it.

The green mold don't harm the ants that is from the water that comes in contact with sunlight. I read you have your heater underneath the tank, if possible try to put it on the side ore on top. More natural for the ants.
