Tetramorium caespitum don't need a lot of space until the colony gets really, really big.

Hi,
I think that what Mikey Bustos are doing in north America is really great in more difficult
conditions than in Europe. Most north Americans are familiars with ant farms populated by few workers without queen or brood, that 's a very disappointing experience that , I think disgust most of them to keep ants again .
The gel ant farm is even worst. It is worst than turtle keeping in much to small aquarium without UV light.
I wish you best success and to be know all over north America so that many people can have a really rewarding experience keeping ants .
The sending of colony or queen been prohibited in the US and I think in Canada , the most important will be to explain in simple words and pictures how to collect fecundated queens and to develop colony's.
Tetramorium sp.E (and a few other ant species) seems to me to be the ideal choice .

The size of a nest must be in relation with the size of the colony , if a nest is to big the ants drop garbage in surplus rooms that
become unhealthy or inhabitable so the best is to change the nest every year after hibernation for a bigger one, to clean it if possible to reuse later.
