Hello everyone out there!
I would like to set up a colony of Polyrhachis dives. I keep some Lasius niger and Myrmica rubra but I have no experience of keeping exotic ants.
I would be very grateful if anyone could help out with the following questions:
1. I understand they need 26 degrees C. Is this correct? and how do I heat the tank?
2. Is there a specific humidity?
3. I would like to grow food plants in the tank, which ones are suitable?
4. What size tank is appropriate?

I can only really answer 2 as i dont keep these but read about them
The humidity can be fairly dry or so around 40% but 60-70% shouldnt harm them, but if im wrong please correct me someone >.<

ashad your pretty right i believe humidity is not a problem for them, as for heat i would suggest a heat mat and i prob a heat lamp but only using the lamp in the day. As for the plants i dont have a clue perhaps miszt could help you there, I also believe they need a taller tank rather than long as they weave there nest in branchs of the plants you put in the tank. hope that helps

They can also just weave on the ground as far as i know but in nature i believe its more like steve said, would look better that way
