I have just ordered some Camponotus ligniperda.
Does the heating mat I bought with it need to be on 24 hours a day or can I turn it off at night? (In the wild it would get alittle cold at night wouldn't it)?

The description said they liked humus and sand. I have boght both and would like to know how to mix the two together and if its necessary to do this, ie could they cope easily without any humus?

I bought Acryl Ant Display 25x2x20 cms. Does anyone know if it comes with tubing or do I have to buy it separately please?

It is better to learn first about the species you are willing to keep before you buy them.

These ants don't need heating but it wouldn't harm them if you give them a bit. Yes it should be warmer during day than during night.

Mixing humus and sand together is possible but i think it is a bad idea.

As for as i know there is no tubing with the ant display. You should buy it separately.
Btw: are you going to keep these species in that farm ? I think it is rather small, these are the largest ants in Europe you know.
