i have nectar eating bird and she eats a wet mix that is a combination of carbohydrates flower nectar and minerals and vitamins set to maintain a complete diet for the bird it comes in a powder form and you mix it with water till you get a runny yogurt consistency

Nectar is very good for ants, however a new queen is unlikly to take much for a while, she would have had a good feed before she flew

I tried it myself once (Nectar in powder that you mix with water) and none of my ants accepted it. Why i don't know, i think they just didn't like it. You could give her a bit of honey ore a small insects (small fly ore something). Like miszt said, normally they have enough food stored until the first workers hatch, but it wont hurt if you feed her. ;) (ore try)

hi guys

steve being from Australia i get it at a place called "city farmers" this bird food is a little specialized but a good bird store should supply it here it is called lorekeette wet mix it is not that uncommon to keep these birds here so it is not that hard to find if you know what you are looking for

darradar the particular species of bird i have is called a rainbow lorekeette
o if you search in google this name in Australian birds you will be able to find a picture of them

some ants in my local area do like this food as my bird cage and food bowls are full of ant so i would think it would be ok

Oh well if they are in your birds bowls they should like it. ;)
I don't think it would be a complete food for the adults. But you can still feed it and give them some insects and fruits (maybe try some seeds).
