I have a tub of water gel - it says its suitable for insects to use instead of water - as they don't drown in it.

any thoughts on this stuff before I add it to my colony

The cotton wool went mouldy when I dripped honey water on it

Yes water gel is suitable for ants to. (Even antstore sells it.)

Oh thank you - I'm glad I found a pet shop that sells it then.
Unfortunately Antstore's cheapest delivery charge is £11 to the UK.
