ANTSTORE World of Ants

Found several nests today in Edgewood Park (Redwood City, CA). My guess is Camponotus clarithorax, as they look more "golden" than the anthrax did.

These are very nice ants but i can not say for sure they are clarithorax.
I'm you compare them with the one on the picture of antweb, they look the same.

very nice ants is the 2nd one a soldier? dont know much about these ants, but it looks very formidable lol

I think the second one has to be. It was huge. Although, several of the other ones where lurching at me when I tried to scoop them up. They were standing their ground.

They could be C. clarithorax, it is a widespread and variable ant. The second one is indeed a major worker[I]
