ANTSTORE World of Ants

Hi all,

I need help, i have got a new Temnothorax nylanderi colony and i want to put them in a 6+1 chamber qypsum nest from antstore:

The problem is i dont know how to transfer my ants into the nest.
Can someone help me please???

I have a question. how comes one of my temnothorax colony of ants is digging? i thought that they live in acors or wood. Is this normal?

Yes, It is. I never have seen the colony of Temnothorax nylanderi, or of the other Temno, in the ground... They like dry...

Sorry from double sended message. The Temnothorax nylanderi is here, in Slovakia very common ant. I have them too. Queen with three workers....

dont worry, ur colony will sort itself out, juz leave them to do what they do and they'l settle in, i assume u've put sumthing for them to nest in? I use seed/nut shells, just got a nu one that was allot bigger than i expected, but after chopping it up they'v moved in pretty much straight away

really interesting ants these, they dont seem to like Loam very much, so i've added more stones so they can move about, will post sum picz soon

They are in a tube ? can you place the tube in the gypsum nest ? If you can just place it in there and wait until they move from the tube into the nest.

Thanks all, this all helps and i have moved my temnothorax colony into a home. But i couldent put them in the nest i was hoping for because it was'nt escape proof. And i have added a hazle nut shell with a hole into the tank. What i dont understand is that they have moved into a hole they dug and not into the shell .

is the shell hollow or not because if not there is a chance they wont move into it

you can not control them hyper. if they are not in the mood to move there they will not move there. but you can always helps them a bit. If you give them a very nice place to move into they will move in there, but it has to be just wright. Like sith said, try to give them a hollow shell.

p.s:
I have not seen alot of these ants now they have dug themselves in, is it because it is cold outside here?
