As you probably guessed I have a little question. I am thinking of buying a colonie of L. Niger ants. But it is quite important for me to know how much workers there will be in this colonie, because the 'normall' agressive behaviour of this ant only really starts when there are 100 workers (or am I wrong?). Furthermore I am wondering if the colonie is small how easy it will be to boost the colony with another colonie, but I guess that is not really a costumers question. Also if there has already been given an answer to the question, I do apologize, but would anyone be so kind to give me a link to the answer in that case?

I know that the description of L. niger colonies says there are approximately 8-10 ants or something like that..

Ok, thank you very much for your reaction. I guess that there is no possibility to buy more workers with one single queen?

hi yddmld i know abit about lasius niger an i know there is no possibility of adding workers to a queen as they would kill her but there is the possability of adding pupae i have done it an it works wen the workers hatch they are perfectly happy.
