Here a posting from Leevers today:

im from australia and all i can say is DO NOT LET THESE ANTS BITE YOU lol they bloody hurt!!! and for some reason they cause a sting, also some information you may not of known is when they die, their abdomen has a sting in it and remains alive so ive u try to pick it up, it will sting you.
they are incredible ants to watch, but their colony's seem quite small and never have large numbers of them

First of all thanks for your advice!
I already got stung twice and it did hurt a bit. Once in the back of my hand and inbetween my toes.
To say is that they are used to me and my actions and do not panik when I am with my hands in the basin. The big one even takes flys out of my hands without attacking me.
The colony have grown up to six worker now and I have seen arround 50 eggs and ´bout 12 larvaes.
The colony seems to explode right now.
Beside that I wished you`d posted in the disscussion tread and not here.
Maybe one of the Mods is able to moove these two posts there. Please!!!
