Hi there!

i recently caught a few queens and put them into test tubes with cotton wool with water in the end. recently all the cotton wool has been turning black and moulding. just wondered if there was a specific reason for this? I havent fed the queens (caught in july)

How thick is the mould?
I have the same thing. I now have roughly 30 workers and a mould of roughly 2-3mm.
I think it's only ant sh*t. My ants are behaving normally with this.
But it's in my cistern too...
