Thought I'd post a couple of vids from today...

It's nuptial time for L.niger here in the UK and there were hundreds in my back garden, dead males and plenty of queen scampering around after being mated with no wings. Anyway I managed to stick two L.niger in test tubes and found 3 dead ones, so I thought I'd feed them to my M.rubra's....

Here you can see my setup, x2 Ant Store basins stacked and connected with a tube. I did have my C.cruentatus in one of them but she still hasn't given me any brood since her one and only worker died months ago... Maybe next year !
