My new problem is the following, i ve got two ant queens(Lasius Niger) and as i heard this species can have only ONE queen/nest, i ve got to get rid of one of them...
So i thought of i would keep the stronger one, its just i dont know how to tell which one is healthier.
Both queens laid eggs(altough one of them drowned them into the honey i gave em:// that could be an aspect)
One of the queens got a slightly shorter leg, on the left(the last leg). Its just a little bit weird, so she is slightly hobbing as she moves along
Yes i checked, she got no missing limbs in her leg, she got everthing, i checked with magnifier glass, and she got her feet. Its just the whole leg is a bit shorter than the one on other side...
Why can that be, maybe she lost the whole leg earlier, and now she is re-growning it and thats why its a bit still smaller than the other one ?( btw, do ants regrow lost limbs ?)
The other queen got normal lenght legs, but she became a bit darker since i found em( i found both after the mating flight, so they must be the same old), and her head seems a little bit more grey(!). Im not sure if its just dirt, or maybe she got sick/infection, thats why im asking.
So which one should i choose to keep ? And another question is, that what should i do with the other one ?
cheers
