I took my C.ligniperda out two weeks ago, they seem to go into hibernation in autum regardless of temp and wake up half way through winter lol  .

If they had enough hibernation there is no harm in it. But make sure they not go back into it because the temperatures outside still can drop below 0°c now.

Well if you did some reading about Camponotus species you should know that you can't control their hibernation, the queen and the workers can't either.
It's the brood that decides when it's time to rest, if you are able to keep your species for another couple of years you'll notice that they'll go in hibernation more than once a year and that the temperature won't hold them back to do so.
My ligniperda for instance went into hibernation at a temperature of 26 degrees, so I had to respect that and leave them alone for a couple of months.

Camponotus ligniperda (and similar species) queens are starting to lay eggs always cca 2 weeks after hibernation (if they are a bit feeded lol :D ) and it do not depents if they were hibernating for 2 days or 5 months :) ... on this depends only production of eggs and long of life of queen :) . They do not start lay eggs without hibernation , also "winter-larvae" do not grow then. One time I tried to hibernate queen for one night in 0°C and she feld it like winter became , so hibernated ... , but like I told , then is life short ... and she died in half of year ;)
