Cheers guys but when i put water in i think the cotton at the bottom of the straw is blocking it too much and it cloggs up (the straw ends up full of water and the only moisure i see is at a max. of 2cm away from the bottom of the tube. Should i put more water in each tim if so how much im worried im not putting enough in.

The setup looks fine by me. You could use a cotton in your drinking dish that way you workers can not drown.

To moist the farm you need to experiment a bit. Try to keep the sand moist. But not to wet. Don't let the ants in the farm until you know how to keep it moist enough. (i think about 2 times a week a bit of water will do the trick)
