Hey.

My Myrmica rubra colony that I had for about 2 weeks are not very active, they are 4 queens and 100+ workers
the arena they can go out to they almost don't use, cant it be because of the sand from the beach? they don't like sand from the beach?

if any can help, I would appreciate it allot.

No they don't like sand from the beach, that is to small and unstable. You need real sand so they can build a nest in there (or a ytong).

They have a nest in some Ytong, and they are in a glass tank setup.

but i think they just needed to settle in.
