the sensor needs contact with material so i use soil but the soil is a diff temp too the air that heating the ant and im having problems regulating it correctly
anyone got any help im lost and dont know what to do the rapid temp changes are not good
So if i understand right, you want to put the sensor into the sand ? It depends on how thick the sand is but it is always colder underneath it. So if you want 25°c inside of the farm, i would put the thermostat at 20°c. Try it out.
@all: thanks for checking my spelling. lol It was funny but i had to remove it.
yeh that works but . when the heat mat turns on the air temp shoots up and makes the tem too hot for the ant while the soil is heating up to same temp same when drops goes cold way faster
ive put her outside in the -0 temps so now the heatmat as to work for temp , the house was just messs the regulation up. now i just found out the glass people gone into liquidation and now i cant finish nests not happy
no not yet im only just bringing her out of hibernation she is defintly getting more active she made a move out tube earlier to get some food but i was moving her at time and she ran back in
ok to start with.. why have u not got a single messor queen in a test tube?? She should be in a test covered over and left completly alone... if you have/are bringing her out of hibernation then you should put her in a draw and forget about her for at least like 3-4 weeks. Raising a colony of Messor barbarus is VERY hard.
yep only time she will be moved is about 3metres to the side when glass being put in then in there perm but ill hold that off till she as some workers now and hope the plastic box can hold em till then. ive got the temps ok now whats ideal temp to keep her at in ur opinions ?>
