Again there is a little snow in Belgium (+-6cm) and this time it is going to stay longer, it is -12°c at night and -4°c during the day, that's the coldest temperature since 1997. I went on a little trip outside and took some pictures...

It is snowing again today, but just a little.

No i live about 2h driving from the ardennes. It is much more beautiful there and more snow. This was taken in a small piece of nature 100m from where i live.

Thanks Uta, sadly we don't have much of such a nice winter landscape. It only happens once in 10 years or so. And mostly it is only one day, next day all the snow is gone. But now it stays for a week or so.

Wow, so am I the only one who looks at those pics and think: "Now that place must be an ant-heaven during summer!"

I have similar areas where my sister lives, and there's an unbelievable amount of ants there, ranging through most of the 100 species we have in Sweden. This summer I'm gonna be taking alot more pictures from there than I managed last summer.

But these are great pictures. My favourite weather is during the winter. Either like this with snow and smashing sub-zero degrees, or no snow, with the same smashing sub-zero degrees. Everything feels so crystal clear then.

Yes you can find a lot of ants here during summer, but only the common ones. I think about 6 different species.
