@messorus

Just a tip for you future video: It is always great to see the big picture, you know, zoom out and show the whole thing. The whole nest and also the arena. I kinda miss this in your video.

;) .
My colony have 30 workers at the moment, i think i found the good temperature etc.. :D .
I think i'm going to give them a outer world with light soon (at the moment the whole nest and outer world is in a heated box).
The colony don't have any majors yet :( , but i guess they'll find solution soon :wink:

I check on my Messor barbarus colony every day and its fine. I do turn down the lights first thought so they don't get a load of bright light. My colony started with no workers and is now about 10 workers. They do grow fast.

My colony also gets verry stressed of direct light. They start running all directions and the queen even go out of the test tube, the same with heavy fibrations.

@Mpir: This ytong was made by SKippy and it´s patneted technic of high quality. We can´t show more than just formicarium, because we don´t want to lose originality of Skippy´s idea, others coud make this special ytong for commercial use.... Sorry :P

Living flyes? no ... possibly died , because my mother killing them a lot on window (they flying to our home sometimes) or in kitchen , and everytime she asking me if I want a dead fly :) , so my ants have fresh killed flies everyday :D

I gave my Myrmica rubra colony one time a large living fly. They grabed the leggs of the fly so it coudn't fly and they ate it allive.

Becouse of the slow death i think i won't give them again a living fly :P ..
