I don't think the bottle is a good place for a formicarium... Antstore don't ship to USA. Try to make something similar to these you can see in Antstore. Building your own simple formicarium is not hard. If the ants feel good they don't try to escape. Lasius flavus need hibernation in winter.

ok thank you and the bottle is only temporay untill there colony is large enough to take on a normal formicarium like a y-tong o and could i find lasius niger in the usa?

ok my L. Flavus queens wont eat the protein i have given them they will drink sugar water but nothing els have i done something wrong or is this just a normal processes that they go through?
