It looks great! But what are the little "shades" in the nest? Little holes or is it painted?

no drilling holes only uses a screw driver!!

I also have 2 be honest I made 2 ytong blocks, as you can see 1 has a sharp angle the other has a curve.

the one with the Angle also the one with the holes was 2 big made a miss calculation thought my basin was 35 cm x25x25 butt is 35cm x 25x20.:S

I first wanted to buy needles, but they are quite expensive. So i went to a forest last week and gathered some needles and some nice fir cones!
I havent set up my basin yet, because im still waiting for the PTFE i have ordered yesterday at Antstore.

Just got my ants from thomie.
Sadly all the workers were dead on arrivel.
But the queen still lives. but no brood :(. Maybe she ate the brood...?

I'm thinking of waking her up in a few weeks and try too feed her with cotton swab and putt on 1 honey/suger and the other protein jelly. And present this too her so she can reach it. I think because she already had some workers she already became a stil sitting egg laying machine and won't go out for food. So I'll try too hand feed her :P

Anyone comments or experience in this?

Just put some food inside of the test tube, as far as possible so the food stays dry and it's easy to clean the test tube. When i feed my ants inside a test tube I'll put a little drip of honey water inside the test tube.

yeah but will the queen go get it herelf that what i'm worried about....
Because in first without workers or brood she does everything herself, but if she had workers and brood she doesn't do anything she just sit and lay eggs.
